Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups unsweetened coconut milk (or 1 3/4 cups milk of your choice)
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • small pinch ground cardamom
  • small pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1-2 tbsp bourbon, optional
  • star anise, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine the milk, white chocolate, vanilla, cardamom and nutmeg. Over medium low heat, warm the mixture, stirring frequently, until the chocolate is melted and smooth, and the milk is hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from the heat, and pour into 2 large cups or 4 small cups. Stir in the bourbon, if using, and place the star anise on top of the hot chocolate for garnish.
